Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
Automations Smart respects your privacy and handles personal information for online sales, door-compatibility checks, quotes, professional installation, warranty support, website operation and customer service.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, delivery address and installation address
- Order, invoice, payment-confirmation and transaction information
- Appointment, quote, product and support details
- Door, frame, strike-plate, lock and property photos, measurements and compatibility information
- Messages, contact-form submissions, live-chat transcripts and call notes
- Marketing preferences, review submissions and photo-publication consent
- Device, browser, cookie, IP address and website-usage information
We do not need your lock PIN, fingerprint data, mechanical-key details, account password or complete payment-card information for an ordinary quote or support request. Do not submit them through forms or live chat.
How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you browse the store, place an order, submit a form, upload door photos, request a quote, book an installation, contact support, use live chat or leave a review. We may also receive limited information from Shopify, payment providers, delivery carriers, installers, analytics services and other providers involved in your transaction.
Why we use information
We use personal information to:
- Process orders, payments, deliveries, quotes and refunds
- Assess door compatibility and recommend suitable products
- Schedule, complete and follow up installations
- Provide customer, warranty and technical support
- Maintain account, fraud-prevention, safety and transaction records
- Operate, secure, measure and improve our website and services
- Send marketing only where permitted and provide an unsubscribe method
- Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes
Door and property photos
Door and property photos are used for compatibility, quoting, installation and support. We will not publish customer photos in marketing, social media, reviews or a public gallery without separate permission. Withdrawing marketing permission does not prevent us from retaining information reasonably required for an order, warranty, safety, dispute or legal obligation.
When information is shared
We may share information only where reasonably necessary with Shopify, payment providers, delivery carriers, installers, customer-support and form providers, website hosting, analytics and security providers, professional advisers, insurers and authorities where required by law. These providers may process information in Australia or overseas under their own infrastructure and privacy terms.
We do not sell personal information. We do not authorise third parties to publish customer door or property photos without separate permission.
Cookies and analytics
Our store and service providers use essential cookies for the cart, checkout, security and customer accounts. Analytics and marketing technologies may also be used to understand website performance and measure advertising. Browser controls and any cookie-consent tools available on the store can be used to manage non-essential cookies, although disabling some technologies may affect functionality.
Security and retention
We take reasonable administrative, technical and physical steps to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. Information is retained only as long as reasonably required for the purpose collected, customer support, warranty administration, fraud prevention, accounting, disputes and legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified where practical.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask to access or correct personal information, withdraw marketing consent or make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity before providing account or order information. We will acknowledge and investigate a complaint within a reasonable time.
Where the Privacy Act applies, an unresolved eligible complaint may also be made to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
