Installation & Booking Policy
This policy explains compatibility checks, quotes, bookings, installation scope, changes and after-installation support for Automations Smart services.
Last updated: 1 September 2026
Before a smart-lock installation is booked
Professional smart-lock installation is confirmed only after Automations Smart reviews the proposed product, door and likely installation method. Our free door compatibility form accepts the required photos directly through the store.
Please provide five clear photo groups:
- The complete outside of the door
- The complete inside of the door
- The door edge and a readable door-thickness measurement
- The current lock position and a readable lock-stile measurement
- The frame and complete strike plate of the current lock
If there is a screen or security door, also provide a sixth photo showing both doors and a readable clearance measurement. Submitted photos help with assessment but do not by themselves guarantee compatibility. We confirm the next step after review.
Quotes, scope and booking confirmation
A quote or booking confirmation identifies the product or service, installation scope, price, location and any assumptions known at that time. Details supplied by the customer must be accurate enough for us to assess the work. A professional-installation option is not payable through the store until the required door approval has been completed.
Any specific deposit, payment timing, quote-validity period, lead time or appointment condition will be disclosed in the quote or booking confirmation before the customer agrees to it.
Site access and preparation
The customer must have authority to approve work at the property and obtain any owner, landlord, strata, building or site permission that applies. Please ensure the installer can safely access both sides of the door and the frame, and that a person authorised to approve any necessary decision is available.
Tell us before the appointment about known alignment, frame, structural, electrical, wiring, alarm, intercom, Wi-Fi, access or existing-damage issues that may affect the work. Remove items blocking the work area and have existing keys available for testing and handover.
Compatibility, concealed conditions and additional work
Photo assessment reduces avoidable surprises but cannot reveal every concealed condition. Door construction, existing cut-outs, unused holes, frame alignment, cabling, strike position or other site conditions may become clear only after inspection or removal of existing hardware.
If the proposed work is unsafe, incompatible or materially different from the approved scope, we may pause the work and explain the available options. Where reasonably possible, additional work or materials will be explained and approved before proceeding. Patching, painting, carpentry, electrical work or correction of pre-existing damage is not included unless the accepted quote expressly says it is.
Appointments, rescheduling and cancellation
Contact us as early as possible if an appointment needs to be changed. Any cancellation, rescheduling or missed-appointment charge must be disclosed before the booking is confirmed and be limited to reasonable costs already incurred where such a charge is permitted.
No such charge applies where Automations Smart cancels, where the customer is exercising a statutory right, or where a product or service has failed to meet a consumer guarantee. If we need to change an appointment, we will offer a reasonable alternative or an appropriate refund for the unprovided service.
Installation, testing and handover
Installation services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for an agreed purpose and be completed within the agreed time or, where no time was agreed, a reasonable time. We test the installed equipment and provide practical handover for the agreed access methods and setup.
The customer remains responsible for controlling PINs, passwords, access cards, fingerprints, mechanical keys and app accounts after handover. Do not share these credentials through live chat or website forms.
Workmanship warranty and support
Installation work completed by AutomationsSmart includes a five-year workmanship warranty beginning when Refurbix Pty Ltd receives full payment for the relevant installation service. Products include a separate two-year product warranty unless a different period was clearly stated before purchase. Ongoing technical support is also available. Read the Warranty & Support Policy for the full terms, claim steps and Australian Consumer Law information.
If an issue appears to have been caused by our installation, contact us promptly so it can be assessed and rectified where required.
Service areas
Professional smart-lock installation is offered across VIC, NSW, QLD and WA, subject to suburb, installer and project availability. Selected automation services have more limited service areas. Availability is confirmed before booking.
Door photos and privacy
Door, frame, strike-plate and property photos are used for compatibility assessment, quoting, installation and support. They are not published in marketing, social media, reviews or a public gallery without separate permission. Avoid including people, house numbers, keys, access codes or other unnecessary personal information. Read the Privacy Policy for more detail.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law. If this policy or a quote conflicts with a right that cannot lawfully be excluded, that right prevails.
